Term 3 - Week 3
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Thanks goes out to Chappy Leanne for last Friday’s Colour Explosion event. The students had a fantastic time and laughed, giggled and dodged for a solid 20 minutes. It was a lot of fun and thank you to everyone (Mr Boyd, Ms Child and our Yr 6 student councillors who were a big help) who contributed and supported the students. It was also pretty clear that the staff had great fun spraying the runners. Final fundraising figure is still being calculated.
CGEN
Four of our amazing Central students, joined with hundreds of talented kids from throughout Qld at the recent Creative Generation performance at the Brisbane Convention Centre. After rehearsing for months before the event, they had four days to pull it all together once everyone converged in Brisbane. The performances were incredible. CGEN is such a great opportunity for students who have a love of the Arts to explore this passion. If your child loves to sing, dance or perform, plant the seed for them to get involved in 2022!
Eisteddfod - Tuesday
Good luck to our strings ensemble who perform at the Gympie Eisteddfod next Tuesday. Ms Patrick has been working hard with the students and they had a chance to rehearse in front of the senior students on Tuesday morning this week.
School Camps - next week
Next Wednesday our Yr 5 and Yr 6 students head to their camps at Barambah Environmental Education Centre and Noosa North Shore camps. They will return Friday afternoon ready for an early night!

Gympie Central will host two Explore Prep and Play mornings again this term. The first is on Wednesday 18 August and the second is Wednesday 8 September. Both sessions are from 9am to 10am, and while the children learn and play with the current preps, parents and carers will be offered an information session with school staff and our experienced Occupational Therapist.
The school always offers individual tours of the school. Families can contact the office on 5480 2111 to make a time to walk through the school with Mr Cafferky or Mrs Vacher.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
The NCCD is an annual collection of information about Australian school students with disability. The NCCD enables schools, education authorities and governments to better understand the needs of students with disabilities and how they can be best supported at school. The NCCD is being collected at the moment and will be submitted on 13 August. If you have any questions regarding the NCCD, please contact the school.
